Magnesium
- Magnesium is a cofactor of multiple essential enzymes in the plant organism. Its most essential function, however, is in the chlorophyll centre. As a general rule: low magnesium uptake = low photosynthetic performance = insufficient nitrogen assimilation = poor growth.
- Nutricon has introduced a product that, unlike conventional fertilisers, contains a chelated form of Mg. In this form, it can be utilised much better by the plant.
The plants most sensitive to Mg deficiency are:
- legumes,
- oilseeds,
- fruit trees,
- vegetables.
Moderately sensitive are:
- cereals,
- potatoes,
- sugar beet.
